Siargao Itinerary

Marajaw karajaw sa Siargao!

First thing comes to mind once you think of Siargao is surfing. Being the country’s best surf spot and hailed as the surfing capital, your trip wouldn’t be complete without riding its waves. No worries for those who knows nothing about surfing. Locals of Siargao are very much welcome to offer surf board rental with instructor good for an hour lesson for just Php500.

No pain, no gain. So prepare yourself for an action pack adventure. Never mind the bruises and body sores after.

Siargao is also a place for non-surfers as well. So don’t miss heading to Magpupungko Beach and tidal pools.
The place is best enjoyed during low tide. The amazing view serves more for a Php50 entrance fee. This is one of best spot to go swimming and even cliff jumping.

Go Island hopping
Island hopping in Siargao will take you to three beautiful islands – Naked, Dako and Guyam Island.

Sohoton Cove adventure
If you want to experience more of nature, include Sohoton Cove in your itinerary. Here you can enjoy caving, cliff jumping, swimming with stingless jellyfishes and a view of nature. The jellyfish were not in season at that time,  so we only get to see a few. From our resort, it took us a 2-hour boat ride heading to Socorro. So time is of the essence.

Getting there…

Easiest way going to Siargao is by plane. Cebu Pacific offers direct flights to Siargao daily. We only got to spend Php1298 for a RT ticket to Siargao. You need not to spend a lot for a plane ticket, just be in the know of the latest promo of different airlines. Just hope for a perfect weather condition when flying to Siargao since most flights heading to Siargao can be easily affected by slight weather disturbances. In our case, our trip was in the midst of typhoon Marcy which cause the cancellation of our flight so we took the Cebu-Butuan flight then travel to Surigao City and reach Siargao the next day via ferry.

Another item ticked off the bucket list! ☺

Initial itinerary of this trip was ruined by typhoon Marcy which results to the cancellation of our direct flight to Siargao. The airline gives us the option to take the Butuan bound flight on that day. Upon arriving to Butuan, we headed directly to Surigao City and spend the night there and decides to take a ferry bound for Dapa Port in Siagao early morning with the possibility of still won’t be able to take the ferry due to typhoon warning still up in some areas in the country. Thank God that the coast guard issued a go signal for ferries to sail.
